FAQS

Why should I use MyMeds?

MyMeds is easy to use and a great way to get more involved in your healthcare. Hospital and clinic medication records are frequently incomplete and inaccurate because patients are often prescribed medicines by different physicians.

With MyMeds, you can take control of your medicines by making and keeping an accurate medication list with you at all times. You are the common link and can greatly reduce the chances that you will suffer from adverse drug effects with a MyMeds card.

How much does MyMeds cost?

A registered user can download MyMeds free of cost from the website. Registration is free of cost too.

What makes MyMeds different from other products?

We implement a unique model for patient involvement - “MyMeds ESP: Easy, Safe, and Practical”.

Easy – MyMeds is low-tech, requiring only a standard personal computer. Its “point and click” format makes it easy to add medicines and make changes as needed.

Safe – MyMeds is housed on your computer. There are no online records, so you do not have to worry about your medical information being at risk.

Practical – MyMeds incorporates the most commonly prescribed medications using its unique SmartDosage feature.

What kind of computer system do I need?

MyMeds can be run on any desktop or laptop PC with a Windows 98 or newer system. Suggested minimum requirements are Pentium 166 Mhz or faster with at least 128 MB of RAM. Currently, it is not available for Macintosh.

How often do updates become available?

We realize that drug information changes frequently. We will make updates available online on the MyMeds website periodically. You will be notified via email with a website link to make it easier for you to update your medication database.

How many people's medicines can I manage with the program?

Recognizing that many elderly adults and children have caregivers, MyMeds allows you to manage up to six people at a time. Each person will require their own unique user id and password on your system, to reduce the possibility of mix-ups.

How is my information protected?

You are in control of your health information. None of your personal health information is available online; it is all stored on the hard drive of your PC. The program itself is password protected, hence it cannot be accessed by anyone unless you give them your MyMeds password/user id combination.

Who has access to my medication history?

Only people who have access to your personal computer and know your user id/password can access your medication history. This is one of the key features of the MyMeds program - it is fully owned and controlled by the patient.

Why do I have to register on the website?

Medication updates and future versions of MyMeds will generally only be available by download from the MyMeds website. To keep your information current, we must have your email id to alert you of any changes.
